Your support makes all the difference!

The impact of your donation

Yes, the PTO hosts many fun events throughout the year, but did you know that our PTO fully funds or offsets the cost of all of Sanborn’s field trips, author visits, museum presentations, and any other educational experiences that are brought to the school? We also support our teachers with grants for classroom supplies and purchase equipment, furniture, and other needs for the school. We provide back-to-school supplies and Scholastic gift cards for families who need them.

We recognize that it can feel like the PTO is always asking for donations and we wanted to take some time to share the current PTO Board’s fundraising philosophy so you will know what to expect from us.

Our commitment to YOU:

Transparency

We pledge to provide information on PTO expenses and sources of income, and to be clear when an event or program is a fundraising opportunity. For example, did you know that after instructors are compensated, Explorations is a fundraiser for the PTO? So, thank you for enrolling!

Responsibility

The Sanborn PTO is a 501(c)(3) organization, so it is our responsibility to spend down the funds we raise each year while carrying forward a small “rainy day” fund for leaner times.

Predictability

We seek to establish a predictable cycle of fundraising. This will include a few larger fundraising events and smaller “passive” fundraisers. This will help all of us know what to expect!

Engagement

Did you know you can give directly to the PTO, any time of year and any gift size, and make a tremendous difference for the Sanborn experience? A $20 gift provides field trip bus transportation for 4 students; a $100 gift buys cushions and flexible seating for a first grade classroom; a $500 gift brings an enrichment program for the entire third grade.

We couldn't do any of this without the Sanborn community, so THANK YOU for your continued support.
